Gum Disease Treatment & Care in Yelahanka

Bleeding, swelling, bad breath or a changing gumline can leave you unsure what to do next. We assess your gums and tooth support, explain the findings and plan the appropriate level of care.

Early Gum Inflammation or Deeper Gum Disease?

Periodontal charting used to record gum health findings
Gum measurements help the team assess inflammation and tooth support.

Early Gum Inflammation (Gingivitis)

Inflammation is limited to the gums. They may bleed, swell or feel tender. Examination, effective plaque removal and consistent home care are central to treatment.

Deeper Gum Disease (Periodontitis)

The tissues supporting the teeth are affected. Gum pockets, bone loss, recession or tooth movement may be present. Treatment is followed by reassessment and long-term maintenance.
Your visit includes discussion of symptoms and medical history, examination of the gums and tooth support, gum measurements and imaging where indicated. Tobacco use, diabetes, medicines and previous gum disease can affect planning.

Your Gum-Care Plan, Step by Step

Professional cleaning removes deposits that are difficult to manage at home. We explain cleaning techniques for your teeth and the spaces between them.

Scaling and root planing treats deposits below the gumline when indicated. We explain the areas involved and comfort measures. Understand deep cleaning.

We reassess healing and gum findings before deciding whether additional treatment is needed. An initial cleaning visit does not settle every gum problem.

Some sites need further access through periodontal surgery. Gum position may also affect cleaning, appearance or restoring a tooth. A laser may be an option for selected tasks within a plan. Read about gum surgery or understand laser gum treatment.

Has Laser Treatment Been Mentioned?

Our separate laser guide explains its possible role, alternatives, the treatment experience and aftercare.

Keep Your Gums Healthy Between Visits

Brush twice daily with doctor-recommended toothpaste and clean between teeth using the method advised for your mouth. Ask the team to demonstrate areas you find difficult.

Tell us about diabetes, tobacco use, medicines and dry mouth. These details help us plan care and support healing.

Review frequency depends on your findings and response. Report new bleeding, swelling or tooth movement rather than waiting for the next routine visit.
